I was offered a job in Austria and I want to know how works the taxes in this country?
It will be a permanent position. taxes higher than in the UK???

working abroad at christmas?
this is going to be my first year every away from my family at christmas. im working in austria for 5 months and i have to leave on the 13th of december. what is the best way to enjoy my christmas when im on my own and any tips how i can prevent myself being homesick that day. im goin to miss my family and friends so much

there is nothing that can prepare you for being alone in such a holiday! all i can say its try to enjoy it as much as you can! knowing that your love ones will be missing you as much or more! good luck

People in austria are very friendly, so while your there try to get to know some of the locals and see how they spend the holiday. Or you could even see what festivites are happening around your area. but as for as being home sick, try to keep in touch with your family as often as you can. call them on christmas or christmas eve, it will probably make you fill more at home.

keep as busy as possible and join in festivities all you can. I assume your job is travel related or resort related so you will meet new people etc.

Maybe bring a small (aritifical of course) cmas tree with you to austrailia and decorate it. Rent some christmas movies. Call your family :) on Christmas! Try to keep yourself busy/occupied! My younger sister is studying abroad in England this year and won't be here for christmas either. Her first cmas w/o the family. Just remember its just this year :) next year u can make it a GREAT cmas!!

How do you send an email to Austria?
Hi. I'm trying to send an email to a friend in Austria, but it just keeps coming back unsent. This is what his adress looks like blahblah@netway.at I tried this email, I tried .com and neither works, any suggestions?

You need to check what his real address is. It needs to be exact.

check the error message. the inbox may be full. if it says no such member,then no such member exists at that address

how to call from thailand to austria
how to call from thailand to austria?
my friend is in austria airport.he just texted me with his number.wich was his thai number!?.. so i caled it..and it worked.but then he said he cant call out with it . so i run out of money and try call it back with 2 other phones but dosent work. is there a code i could use? or is it just luck that my fireds card worked?lol im in thailand using a thai sim too.

You will need to purchase a calling card. You can do this online. There are MANY choices, so be careful. I have one that I got in Thailand, from a company called CAT. It works both ways, and the cost is about 2 cents per minute, plus a small connection fee.
