You don't need to contact the immigration in Vienna, this has to be done by your cousin living in Vienna. I have translated the part in reference to private visits published by the Austrian Ministry of the Interior to the best of my knowledge. Electronic Statement of Guaranty (EVE): A visa may still be granted to a foreigner who does not have sufficient / proven resources to cover the intended stay in Austria, if, due to the Statement of Guaranty of a person with residence in the federal territory, the bearing of all costs seems to be assured. This was done by the means of a notarized Statement of Guaranty in the past. Now private hosts have to see the competent alien police authority (Bundespolizeidirektion, Bezirkshauptmannschaft, in Vienna the respective district police headquarters) and submit a so-called free of charge Electronic Statement of Guaranty. The host declares - as before – to be willing to pay for all costs incurred to public entities, by the stay of visa applicant even if this goes beyond the period of the invitation. His statements regarding credit quality must be demonstrated before the alien police authorities. Private hosts have to bring the following documents: Identity document, registration form, appropriate proof of income, lease, or similar, if there is evidence of concern about existing obligations, loans or similar, as well as documents relating to the relationship with the visa applicant. The disclosure of the passport number of the visa applicant is requested. Following the submission of the EVE the host will be given an ID number which he in turn will tell the visa applicant. The visa applicant can submit the visa application at the earliest 48 hours after submission of the EVE to the competent Austrian diplomatic authority abroad and shall state the ID number under which the authority can retrieve the EVE. Yes it will work. As long as you have a viable internet connection you can play online anywhere in the world.

it will work, need a dif power cable and u will have to get ur games from Austria or Europe because ur console is under PAL and America is NTSC...and the worst thing if u get a US console then the games u already have won't work on it, u would have to rebuy them unless u keep the console u have and also get a US version as well, some games will work on any Xbox tho because they are region free but not all of them are, google for a list of region free 360 games.

Police In Austria

Police In Austria?
To become a police officer in austria do you have to be an austrian citizen? I plan to move to austria but I am getting a degree in criminal justice which usually means police work, and if I cannot become a police officer in austria until I am a citizen that will be 10 years of living there to become one.. So I would need a job to do in the 10 years of time I have to wait... Any ideas? I will be taking the schooling in austria, not in the US. And I speak German fluently, so everything is good except for what to do with a degree in CJ when you cannot become an officer..

There are few countries that will let you be a police officer without being a citizen, however, there are other types of jobs such as corrections or some kind of inspector for a social service such as backround checks on applicants. I would hope that you can speak the prevailing language as that would help a lot. If you are getting a CJ degree in the US it is not going to be of much value there as the systems are very different. Hoepfully you are not moving to Austria to become a police officer as there must be an easier way to do this.

Remembering the police back home, I have to seriously doubt whether you actually need that CJ degree. They seemed dumb as rocks. You could see if maybe doing the mandatory military duty will get you the citizenship. Then you could also become military police (Feldjaeger)

Electric converter for European travel

Electric converter for European travel?
I'm going on a trip to Europe in two weeks or so, and I need an outlet converter that will work for both my ipod nano and my digital camera without blowing their circuits. It has to work in England, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Lichtenstein. I have heard that many converters/adapters will surge and frazzle ipods, etc... Any suggestions? I need a brand or model.. something specific, not just voltage suggestions.

Not sure, but I believe those countries use a standard 250volt, 50 cycle power, so your converter must go from that to the present USA 120 volt 60 cycle supply. Best to check with supplier where you buy the converter.
2 :
Look on the chargers. If they say you can run them from 240V you just need plug adapters, and can likely get a kit with all the adapters you need. If the say only 120V, you need a converter transformer as well. A 50W/VA one will do.

You may just need a universal adapter for the plug. iPod adaptor should be 120~240Vac auto. Same thing with your camera. Check their charger voltage ratings. Cameras and iPods can be charged using USB chargers too.
