Does drinking help with speaking a foreign language

Does drinking help with speaking a foreign language?
I was at a party with some friends and one of those friends is from Austria. She is fluent in English and German. However, I am learning German by myself and don't know much, but I know some. We started talking in English, then switched to German, and she said my German was perfect and sounded like that of an Austrian. Does my brain work well with languages or was it because of the alcohol?

Take this into consideration... if you were drinking, so was she.

I totally think she has a thing for you ;)

Drinking won't help with speaking in a foreign language it will make it worse.

I have this weird idea that it MIGHT help with accents because it lowers inhibitions. Most people are self-conscious when they try to reproduce unfamiliar sounds because they think it sounds silly, or are afraid of sounding silly, or something, so getting a bit tipsy to stop worrying about sounding like an idiot might help. Or maybe the local dialect sounds naturally slurred; I wouldn't know. Or see the first answer.

this question is hilarious, maybe she got the hots for you. How long have you been studying German so far?

Lost friend in Austria: Mika (Michal) Ziajor (possible last name)

Lost friend in Austria: Mika (Michal) Ziajor (possible last name)?
Hi Everyone, I have been trying to look for my lost friend. His name is Michal but everyone calls him Mika and his possible last name is Ziajor. we met in Austria in St Anton am Arlberg in January 2007 and lost contact to him in March 2007 (it was my fault). he used to work in hotel in Langen in 2006/2007. He planned to go to army (assuming in Austria) in Nov/Dec 2007 and come back in Nov/Dec 2008. His mother lives/lived in Vienna and his father lives/lived in California. We used to talk over email and phone. We have stopped talking in March 2007 and now i am looking for him. I have been emailing him but no reply. I don't have his mobile number or any number because i lost my mobile that had his number and i canceled the my number. I have called Vodafone to ask for the bill from January 2007 but they said since the account is closed they deleted all the details. I have been trying to figure out what hotel he worked in but I dont rember the name and the hotels i have found in Langen don't look like the one he worked in. I have done people searches in the internet and noone in Austria has last name Ziajor.I have done a reverse email search and they do not give me any details. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know what to do. Im writing emails to him on daily basis (feels like im writing a blog). Also Maybe someone knows, seen him or anything I will be happy. Thanks. He is on my profile photos.

There is a guy named Michal Ziajor with a blog in German and listed as koch85_boy He is 23 years old and lives in Fels am Wagram Austria. Here is the blog: http://de.netlog.com/go/search/view=people Do a search under "koch85_boy". There is a picture but you probably will not get far. Anyway, it is a start. PS There is a Michael Ziajor who is listed at a hotel in Landeck: http://www.huber-hotels.at/en/tramser-hof/welcome/ I don't know how old the information is. http://www.tfbs-landeck.tsn.at/Bewerbe/AK-LWB/Lehrgang04-05/4DB.html

Why don't we hear more about the 'water wizard of Austria',Victor Schauberger's insights into water

Why don't we hear more about the 'water wizard of Austria',Victor Schauberger's insights into water?
After the war in Europe where Schauberger had been ordered by Hitler to create a water than would run on water, he was captured by American forces and brought to the U.S. where he continued to work for many, many years. Why isn't this research into water made available? His theory is short: there is a force in water that runs counter to the way the water is flowing -z/b: the fish hypothetically swimming upstream against the current, is in fact catching a ride! Like on an escalator. The fish has learned how to board this current and actually rides it upstream. Wilhelm Reich was well aware of Schauberger's work, and some say incorporated these ideas into his work with the 'cloudbuster'; that in fact the back of the barrel was pointed (or plugged into) against an underwater current of water, the 'current' acting to fuel the cloudbuster. I want to know why a more serious look at Schauberger's ideas isn't being undertaken by research universities around the globe?

Oh, where to begin? We don't hear more of Schauberger or Reich because their work has already been debunked by the scientific community. While Schauberger's work on aircraft engines surely helped with the Nazi war effort, his implosion technology never took off, so to speak -- the Russians and Americans confiscated his work after the war, and we haven't seen anything come out of it since then. As for Reich, his "orgone" machines didn't actually do anything at all -- he claimed that water possessed a natural energy (colored blue, incidentally) that he could harness to control the weather with orgone collecting devices. No one will bother spending time and resources researching a technology already declared completely false.

Where can I get a phone card online for CHEAP that I can use when I go to Europe

Where can I get a phone card online for CHEAP that I can use when I go to Europe?
I'm going to Europe from July 8th - 24th. I want to be able to call home for cheap every so often. I will be in Amsterdam, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, and England. Ideally, I'd like ONE CARD to work for all these places. Where can I buy a phone card online for cheap that can serve this purpose?

I would recommend Euro Saver phone card http://bestratescall.com/cards/Super_Saver.html for long calls to USA. From Germany to United States with Local Access USD 0.5 ¢ /min and from England to United States USD 0,7 cents per min.
