does long distance relatioship work when you guys live oceans away

does long distance relatioship work when you guys live oceans away?
well i met this guy online. i'm 22 and he is 21. i live in singapore and he lives in austria i can meet him in person a few times a year cuz i can get the cheapest air plance ticket. we talk on webcam for hours everyday. i like him but it's a pain that i cannot touch him. all my friends told me that online relationship is no good. i'm confused..... do you think i should break up with him and look for someone who lives in my town or do you think it's worth giving it a try? have you ever done that before? how did it work?

Break up with him? How are you with him?
2 :
enjoy him but thats it. move on, oceans apart? no way
3 :
I've done this before. And I stopped doing online dating because it didn't work out. I also fell inlove once that was oceans away but I fell out of love because it just wasn't working out right. You can't really do anything with each other, other than type. You might be able to see him over the webcam, but it's not the same as actually being there. It'd be best for you to try and look for someone else nearby. Sorry if this brings you down.

my lady is currently in Austria and i am in Australia --- it can work BUT at some point one of you will have to move closer that is something for you to decide --- he should also make the effort to come to you no matter how much it costs ---- best wishes

true love shall never lose magic
6 :
it worked for me....but it only lasted for a half a year
7 :
The distance is too great. You are too young to be tied to someone who lives too far away from you to where you can't enjoy quality time when you need to. Unless one of yall plan on moving don't waste your time.
8 :
Long distance relationships have never worked out for me...and mine where just different towns...but everyone is different...its just that u need to think about that he could have another girl anytime anyplace and u wouldnt kno about her...just give it some thought...it might work out and it might not...good luck

I met my bf online and I'm happy I did. It doesnt matter how far you are from each other as long as you have constant communication, trust and patience to one another. Love, trust and patience can keep love alive.
10 :
It does not sound very promising. You met him on line for one thing, so you can't know to much about his persona. Plus it just doesn't seem healthy to be in a relationship where you can't even get a hug when your feeling blue. However in the end, only you can say whether he matters enough to make it work, or to go on to something else.
11 :
try both. he'd be unreasonable if you find someone, in person. how faithful are you? if you ask people about the relationship, you're not all that confident about your relationship. try dating others in your city, if it doesn't work, what do you have to lose. just be honest with him if you meet another guy and the new guy works.

The possibility of LD relationship to workout is very very small. It might be 1 in 50. I was in it before and it didn't work out. I live in Indonesia and my ex-bf was went to university in Melbourne. For the first few weeks, we keep contact each other everyday, chatting and text message. Few months later, we contact once a week. Sometimes even I cannot find him at all. But my case is different, I already know the guy before. You met him online. Do you know him really well? Can you trust his words? Did he honest with you? You never know whether he will hook up with others in there or is there any other online relationship he had with others? Some of my friends also involve in LD relationship and most of them didn't work out. It is all depend on your decision whether your want to keep this relationship or not. You need to really considering few aspects.

Alberta has no more taxes and got the oil frenzy... They need a lot of workers there... But housing is pretty expensive now, as they can't expend as fast as they need too. Ontario, like Toronto, is the financial city of Canada. All companies have their seat there, but it is a pretty boring city for an European... Also Housing is crazy high, and people not too much friendly. They also a little bit backyard or conservative in ideology... Vancouver is Beautiful, but most business are own by Asian migrants, and may have trouble to be understood there. But golf around and the weather is the very best Canada can offer. Quebec province is the most European of the place, but must speak french. Food is better, architecture is similar to Europe, culture closer too, and night life much more dynamic than anywhere else in Canada... Edit: Quebec don't like immigrants... Funny, it is why we have about 110 different spoken tongues in Montreal... Have a Chinatown and the largest Italian population in north America... Yeh right, the guy below me, need to be educated, English Canadian have read so much BS about Quebec, it is unbelievable...

Alberta is in an oil boom. Toronto is always good. Vancouver. Probably any big city, so you can get your feet wet and then after living there a year you can choose for yourself. Just don't go to Quebec....they don't like immigrants or non-french-speaking people.

I suggest Alberta, British Columbia or Ontario. Alberta - A good economy and good employment prospects. The Rocky Mountains are at your doorstep if you live in Calgary or Edmonton (the two main cities) so you can take day-trips or weekend breaks to the mountains for hiking, skiing, camping... etc.. Coming from Austria you would likely feel very at home there. The cities of Calgary and Edmonton are both rated very high in terms of safety and friendliness. British Columbia - The economy is not as good as Alberta and the job prospects are not brilliant either. Vancouver however is a fantastic city, set on the ocean. Vancouver Island is only a short ferry ride away. The beauty of British Columbia is incredible. You have mountains, ocean, valley's and plains. Again, there are winter sports and summer sports readily available all around. Ontario - Is probably the very best place for finding work as it is the centre of Canadian industry. Ontario is where the seat of government and commerce are based, therefore the opportunities to find employment is very high. The lifestyle in Ontario is very good (as it is in all of Canada), and you could enjoy access to urban lifestyle or a more rural country lifestyle. All the best with your move! Canada is beautiful from coast-to-coast.

Living in Vienna, you may be someone who speaks French as one of your languages. If that is true, you might consider the French Canadian section of Canada. Your English is good enough for survival so it isn't really a problem for you, only a matter of preference. Good fortune to you and your family. My family came to the US through Canada more than 100 yrs. ago. There are certain citizenship differences in Canada that are different from the US. Being a subject of England is only one of them.

Best place to work in Europe

Best place to work in Europe?
I'm not talking profession wise, but just country wise, which country has less unemployment? Which one would you recommend expating to? I'm thinking along the lines of Germany/Austria,Norway,Ireland. (I'm also a German Citizen so I can work anywhere in the EU) Any tips would be appreciated as well.

Holland, Luxembourg and Austria have the lowest unemployment rates. Norway's is probably lower but its not in the EU. And the weather there is appaling. Out of those I'd probably go for Austria- for the mountains and the food (chocolate cake and schnitzel...) over Holland
2 :
Germany/Austria would require you to speak very good German, so regardless of your citizenship, if you can't speak the language, you are not employable. Ireland doesn't have much work at the moment, but you could try. There may be language issues in Norway also.
