Do i need a work permit for an (unpaid) internship program in usa? ( if i have only student visa ) ?
I am planing to attend to MI (musicians Institute) in LA, major is music business... for my career it is important to take part in different internships.. its even more important than the whole program.. i know that the institute guarantees an internship program. i am from austria, and i'll be able to get a student visa for staying in USA.. which doesn't allow me to work i wanted to know if i still can take this internship programs without that work permit (i don't know will it be a paid internship or unpaid) Thanks in advance And happy new year

If it is unpaid then you will have no problems. If it is paid, your employer will have to apply for you, they hate doing this as it is a ton of work. Sometimes the easiest is if they do not pay you but will give you a laptop or some cash at the end. Alternatively, they can give you work on campus. You can do that on your student visa.
